My name is Sara Palmer or Shama, a spiritual name given to me 25 years ago when I was in India. I am the founder of LoveYogaHealing, a registered senior Yoga teacher with 15 years’ teaching experience, Yoga therapist and Ayurveda practitioner and educator. I teach classes, workshops, courses and retreats in the UK and overseas, and I also offer 1-1 sessions in which I can tailor a Yoga and/or Ayurveda programme specifically for you and your individual requirements. My LoveYogaHealing Yoga classes will challenge you to increase your flexibility and strength, and safely and steadily grow and advance in Yoga posture, pranayama and meditation practice. More importantly, they will also bring to you a real understanding of how the practices are working for your deeper health and happiness. In my workshops we move more deeply into the theory and practice of Yoga in order to understand and experience Yoga as a discipline which encompasses much more than physical postures. It is my joy to help to put Yoga firmly back in its place as a therapeutic modality for the healing of the human body and mind, and as an ancient esoteric science for transformation of the human spirit. I bring also Ayurvedic understanding of nutrition and individual constitution to add force to the healing power of the Yoga practices. Please find my forthcoming workshops here.
These sessions give me the opportunity to to address your individual needs with any combination of movement, breath, relaxation, meditation and dietary/herbal prescriptions. They are perfect if the scheduled Yoga classes don’t suit your busy schedule or if you prefer personalised attention to help progress your Yoga practice. Or perhaps you have a health condition, physical or mental-emotional feel the need for individually tailored and specially adapted Yoga tuition. In that case, I draw on my Yoga teacher training, Yoga therapy training and Ayurveda background to give you the best tools I can to help in the restoration of your health and well-being. It is my heartfelt wish in my retreats to bring to you the wonderful experience of full immersion into Yoga life. The retreats guide you to deepen your experience of and connection to Yoga posture, breath and meditation practices, and they introduce the healing power of Ayurveda through daily lifestyle, nutrition, cleansing practices and awareness of the effects on body and mind of the rhythms of the sun, the moon and the season. My prayer is that each participant takes home life-enriching understanding, practices and personal insights to support them long after the retreat has finished.
“Alchemy” has been defined as a “seemingly magical process of transformation” and this is exactly how participants have described the effects of these retreats.There’s no magic however. What is experienced is the power of sustained Yoga practice and lifestyle and the healing changes that occur n simply living attuned to nature. I also invite guest teachers to lead retreats. Ayurveda gives us a unique understanding of our metabolism, the effects of the seasons, and how to adapt our diets and lifestyles according to both metabolism, season, also gender, age and any particular transition we may be passing through. Ayurveda is fantastic for redressing imbalances in the digestion, respiratory system, endocrine system, skin, blood and circulation, nervous system and also cardiovascular system. It can help reduce weight gain and pain. Diet, herbs, lifestyle recommendations, alongside specific Yoga prescriptions are the tools Ayurveda gives us for full bodymind healing. Beginners- Level 1 Classes:
Focus is on the basics of Yoga posture practice: alignment, breath awareness, and mindfulness. Relaxation and breathing practices are included in classes.

Perfect for those looking for a steady cautious approach to practice with greater assistance to adapt poses to accommodate restricted mobility and injury.
These classes are ideal for those with just a little or many years of Hatha Yoga experience. We adapt the practices to suit each one’s capacity and experience. Classes include yoga posture, breathing, meditation, cleansing practices (kriyas), and relaxation.
Who Comes To My Yoga Classes?
People from all walks of life and with varying levels of fitness and experience: people who have been practicing for many years, and complete beginners, athletic types and those who are physically restricted due to illness or injury. Many who are attracted to my classes are drawn to the wellness, mindful and spiritual dimensions of my Yoga classes at least as much as itheir capacity to build flexibility and strength.

About this style of Hatha Yoga
The foundation of my Hatha Yoga classes is my Advanced Sivananda Yoga, Structural Yoga Therapy training as well as trainings in Dynamic Hatha, Ayurveda and Tantra Yoga. You will learn proper posture alignment, and you will learn about and experience the physical, energetic, and psychological benefits of postures, breathing practices and meditations. I draw also on my training and experience as an Ayurveda Practitioner and Ayurveda Yoga Therapist, to structure classes according to age, time of day and year, climate and environment to restore us all to a balanced state of being in body, mind and heart.
