Late Autumn Yoga Weekend in E Devon, with social distancing and safety measures

From Friday November 13 – Monday November 16, 2020, this East Devon seaside Yoga retreat is a chance for you to get away and take time out for yourself in an event which will be organised responsibly to help keep us all safe. The weekend is limited to 6 participants and we will space the mats, and ourselves during yoga and meditations to comply with COVID regulations. There are only two places left so please book soon.

We will stay in a lovely characterful 3 star hotel right on the Sidmouth esplanade, which is fully compliant also with COVID restrictions.  I expect this to be a safe and nourishing time out for morning and late afternoon  Yoga, early morning silent walks and meditations on the beach, and guided meditations and deep relaxations in the evenings.

The programme is simple and is created to help recharge the batteries for the Winter months ahead, with plenty of time for us all to rest and replenish, as well as to enjoy the lovely upmarket town of Sidmouth and surrounding coast and countryside. It’s an opportunity for a brief respite from the current pressures and concerns of every day life.. 

Sidmouth is an attractive town with many independent shops and cafes and a long stretch of unspoiled beach for gentle walks. The surrounding area also has numerous lovely beaches and typical Devon countryside and villages for you to explore in between classes.

PROGRAMME:

7.30 – 8.30am Silent Beach Walk and Guided Meditation 

8.30 – 9.30am Breakfast

10.30 – 12 noon Hatha Yoga

5-6pm Yin/Restorative/Gentle Yoga

7.00pm Supper

8.30pm Guided meditation/relaxation

ACCOMODATION: Single and double ensuite rooms with full or partial sea views in a lovely old hotel on the sea front. Accommodation includes breakfast and evening meals.

ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE: The retreat begins at 5pm on Friday November 13th and will end at 11am on Monday November 16th

GETTING THERE: Sidmouth is ten miles from junction 30 of the M5 (follow A3052) and nine miles from Honiton, follow A375. If you are travelling by public transport, take the train to Exeter St Davids and then another train to Exmouth, from where you can take a taxi or a bus. Or there is a bus that runs from Exeter St Davids to Sidmouth. 

WHAT TO BRING: Please bring walking shoes and waterproof jacket, also something to sit on for meditation on the beach, yoga wear, yoga mat and blanket, also perhaps your meditation cushion and any blocks or bricks you like to use in your practice. The hotel has a smart casual dress code. Please also bring a note book and pen 

EXCURSION: On sunday afternoon there will be an optional excursion to the pretty and historic seaside village of Branscombe and lunch in the pub there (Not included in retreat fee). 

COST: Single ensuite room is £425/person/3 nights’ half board.  Twin/double shared room ensuite is £359/person/3nights’ half board.
