A Spring equinox Yoga by the beach weekend in beautiful East Devon. Our stunning location looks across the estuary at Exmouth and is a stones throw from the sea. Why not take time out to replenish body, heart and soul with three days’ of nourishing and energising Hatha & Restorative Yoga classes, guided relaxations and meditation, and Yoga nidra practices, all specially created to support the nature of the Spring season. There’ll be walks in nature, an Ayurveda talk on Spring season foods and lifestyle tips for keeping balance in body and spirit through the season, and vegan meals professionally prepared for us with local seasonal produce. .With plenty time to enjoy the area, this is weekend could be a  lovely gift to yourself.




The Yoga Practices

The Yoga classes will draw from my training in Sivananda, classical Hatha, dynamic Hatha, Ayurveda, Tantra, Restorative and Yin Yoga styles. 

 Spring is a time to cleanse the body and build strength for the active months ahead. Yoga classes will be structured to stimluate the lymphatics and support the organs of detoxification, breathing practices, relaxations and meditations will be designed also with the theme of the Spring season in mind, uplifting and revitalising mind and spirit.

There will be a Hatha-Tantra class in the morning, guided by the teachings of Ayurveda for the Spring season. We will move through kriyas (cleansing practices), to asanas (postures), to pranayama (breathing) to meditations. In the late afternoon there will be a Restorative Yoga session with Yoga nidra. In the evenings we will enjoy guided meditations and joyful chant to support a restful night’s sleep. 


The Teacher


I have been practicing Yoga for more than 30 years, and teaching for 11 years. I trained with the Sivananda Yoga lineage to advanced level, and lived and worked as a senior staff member in the Sivananda Ashram Yoga Retreat, Bahamas for much of 5 years. I am also a fully qualified Yoga Therapist registered with the International Association of Yoga Therapists, and a certified Ayurveda Practitioner and Educator.

As a full-time Yoga teacher, Yoga therapist and Ayurveda Practitioner, I am dedicated to sharing all that I have learned, not only in my years in the Sivananda ashram and since returning here in the UK, but also on spiritual travels all across the globe. I have travelled to India, Japan, Italy, Spain, Costa Rica, Canada, Scotland, USA and Bahamas to learn from and practice different healing and spiritual traditions. I have done further study in Ayurveda with leading world figures in the field, and workshops and further study in Yoga with many international teachers and masters of Yoga. I am currently doing further training in classical Hatha Yoga. 

I love teaching on retreat. This allows me to share with you the amazing benefits of living a Yoga lifestyle and committing to daily practice of Yoga posture, breathing and meditation

When not teaching, I spend much time journeying more deeply into the fields of Yoga, Ayurveda and Vedanta, exploring their teachings for healing and transformation of the human body, mind and spirit. I have started to write a regular blog and write a monthly Ayurveda column for Kindred Spirit magazine online. 

​The Venue

We will be staying in a beautiful large house right next to the beach. 

The house sleeps has 10 double bedrooms with bathrooms, and outside there are lovely grounds laid out overlooking the sea with a seasonally heated swimming pool, hot tub.The house makes for a wonderful group stay with high end facilities but with a relaxed andfriendly feel.  Exmouth Town Centre is a 20 min walk away along the seafront or 10 minute cycle and it has a good range of shops with plenty of cafes. The seaside townsn of Budleigh Salterton and Sidmouth are close by, and the city of Exeter is just 9 miles away. 

Exmouth Beach has wide sandy beaches and shallow waters. Lifeguard patrolled in high season it is also perfect for a range of water sports year round. There is a dog friendly section of the beach which is available all year round.

The Food

Our meals will be vegan, and seasonal, selected with the teachings of Ayurveda in mind. A local lady who cooks regularly for guestst at the Exmouth Beach House will cook our light lunch and our supper. Breakfast will be a selection of cereals, porridge, fruits and breads.

Herb teas will be available throughout the days. 

The Accomodation

All rooms (apart from one) have ensuite shower or bathrooms. The rooms are double or twin but single occupancy is on offer.

Daily Schedule

  • 8.00 – 9.30am Hatha Yoga session
  • 9.30am Breakfast
  • 12.30pm Pre-Lunch talk/guided practice/Q&A session
  • 1.00pm  Light lunch
  • 5.30    Afternoon  Restorative Yoga and Yoga Nidra practice
  • 7.00pm Vegetarian Seasonal Supper
  • 8.30pm  Evening gathering
  • Please note, our first class on friday evening will be 5.30pm (check in is from 4pm)
  • Check out is 10am on Monday morning. We will have a 1 hour Hatha session and breakfast before leaving. 
    *The schedule timings may change according to circumstances of the weekend. 

What To Bring

Please bring comfortable casual clothing, yoga gear, yoga mat/brick/block, meditation cushion, walking shoes, natural cosmetics if possible to protect the environment, any special foods or supplements you like to take.

Getting There

Exmouth is easy to reach via the M5 and then a further 20 mins (approx) drive. There are trains to Exmouth from Paddington, London and from Birmingham New Street.


A £200.00 deposit is required to secure your place on the retreat. The remainder is due one month before the retreat.

  • £395.00 per person, full board for three nights Fri Mar 20 – Mar 23, shared twin/double room.
  • Single person supplement £130 (full board three nights).

This fee includes all meals, Yoga tuition, snacks and drinks, and ensuite room. 

All Yoga tuition is included in the fee.

Not included in the fee are transfers to and from the venue. Also, extra snacks and drinks taken outside of the venue.
