“After a class, body and mind are elated and full of energy. It’s a real feel good factor. I would recommend everyone should try Shama’s classes.” PC, Kineton, Warwickshire
The Mixed Level Hatha Yoga classes are ideal for those with a little to a lot of Hatha Yoga experience. Classes include sun salutations (surya namaskar) and other flow sequences, including Ayurvedic Yoga flow sequences to balance body and mind, and longer static holding of asanas from the 12 basic postures, and their variations. I draw on my training in Sivananda Yoga Vedanta tradition, Structural Yoga Therapy, Ayurveda Yoga Therapy, and with international masters of Hatha Yoga. Variations are offered according to your body’s capacity and your experience.
Classes are one hour or one and half hours and include pranayama (yogic breathing) practice, deep relaxation and meditation practices as well as Yoga posture practice.
Beginners are welcome as each class will offer variations of postures to adapt the practice to their capacity. However, beginners may also like to check when the next beginners’ course is so that you will get an in-depth teaching on the basics of Hatha Yoga practice. Alternatively, some beginners initially take a few 1-1 sessions to learn the basics of practice.
